HaLLoween festival


HaLLowEEn FestivaL
This week, I had start my assignment- Halloween Festival wallpaper by using Photoshop CS4. To share my experience with you all, I will post all the steps when I'm producing my work at here.Through my blog, you can know what I had doing on my assignment every week and maybe can learn some new technique for editing image. Hope you can enjoy it -- My short tutorial =)






First, I change the name file to Gary Lim Teck Yi_wallpaper. This will easy me to recognise when it place with the other file. I put the width as 210mm and the height as 297mm which is the A4 size. For the resolution, I put it 72 pixels/inch.


Create a black background to show that the night scene in the wallpaper. Select rectangle and drag it in the A4 paper.


You can get a black background. ( Close the eye in the layer because it is easy to u when drag in other picture)



 Go to the File>>> Open



Find your image and click open.


Double click on the layer.Rename the layer as Castle and click OK to unlock the layer.



After that, use crop tool ( shortcut- C).



Click the mouse and hold to enlarge the rectangle. Adjust the rectangle shape to fix the image of the castle. Click on the commit current crop operation to crop the image. 



Select the quick selection tool ( shortcut -  W).



Click on the image that you want to delete.  

Select the eraser tool ( shortcut- E).



You can change the diameter or hardness of eraser. ( shortcut - press [ for reduce / press ] for enlarge)




Erase the image that you are select by using quick selection tool. The background of the image will become transparent and left the castle. Save the file once you finish edit a file. Go to File>>>> save and save as psd. ( shortcut - ctrl + S).

p/s: Save all the file that you have edit to prevent loss data or crash.
